A series of paintings created for the Starbucks Art Program, in collaboration with Annie Fahrenbach. These pieces use the natural world and man-made objects to explore community and connection. Installed and on-view at Starbucks in downtown Wheaton, IL.

Strata
Collaboration between Annie Fahrenbach and Mary Kate Fahrenbach Venturini
Two perspectives layered into one painting. It is a visual conversation between two artists—and sisters—and the local landscape. Each artist alternately contributed porous layers. This allowed their unique contributions to meld together into one piece.

All Tied Up with No Place to Go
Exploring the joys and tensions that arise from our ties to each other. Many knots hold us together even when we feel pulled in different directions.
Supporting Character
Showcasing a bridge along the Prairie Path. This trail plays an important role in the area: it connects local communities to each other and to nature.
Neighbors
Celebrating milkweed, a critical component for rebuilding pollinator habitats. The plant provides shelter and food for monarch butterflies, which are an important link in local ecosystems.
Stumped Again
Investigating the value of a tree stump and its ability to commemorate, celebrate, and memorialize. It reminds us of the tree that once stood. A tree that had its own value, not for what it gave—shade, shelter, nourishment—but in and of itself.
